Dakota Johnson's Plunging Strapless Gown Includes Unexpected Hip Cutouts and a Sultry Thigh-High Slit
Dakota Johnson's latest look shows lots of skin—thanks to a few strategically placed cutouts. On Thursday, the Fifty Shades of Grey alum stepped out in Saudi Arabia, where she attended the opening ceremony of the Red Sea International Film Festival.
Alessandra Rich designed Johnson's strapless black gown, which features an ultra plunging neckline, hip cutouts, a thigh-high slit skirt, and a bow embellishment at the navel. The actress accessorized with Paris Texas heels and Chopard sparkle: a stunning diamond-encrusted statement collar and chandelier earrings topped off her look. The Materialists star wore her brunette tresses in waves with her signature full fringe, while her makeup included rosy cheeks, sparkly taupe eyeshadow, and a mauve lip.
Last month, Johnson posed for Valentino's cruise 2026 campaign years after she first became a Gucci brand ambassador. Creative director Alessandro Michele recently relocated to Valentino after seven years at the latter label. In new imagery, Johnson lies on a carpeted floor wearing a scarlet off-the-shoulder minidress featuring two upper ab-baring cutouts with some floral tights. Her accessories—a teal pair of open-toe pumps and a black bag with a gold chain strap–are strewn off to the side."Intimacy in frame. Brand Ambassador Dakota Johnson stars in #ValentinoCruise2026, the new campaign imagined by @Alessandro_Michele," the caption of Valentino's Instagram post reads.
Back in June, Johnson made us rethink leather for summer when she stepped out in New York City wearing a black cowhide blazer. Pairing it with a plunging long-sleeve jersey bodysuit by Balenciaga, washed straight-leg jeans, Khaite wedges, tiny hoop earrings, and a pair of cat-eye sunglasses, Johnson proved that seasonal dressing is so overrated.
